This excellent isekai adventure follows Takafumi and the Uncle, Yosuke, after he returns From Another World while supplying reruns of his Granbahamal experience in some places. Although being held in a comatose condition (as well as an unwelcoming magical land) for 17 years is way from ideal, a minimum of Ojisan seems to keep his supernatural abilities once he returns the place to find the security of Japan.
Ojisan does not exactly win many recognition contests in Granbahamal, however, he’s perhaps the best spellcaster to wander the world, even when he does not want the loan. Once in reality, this SEGA-obsessed Uncle From Another World uses his forces for that greater good by creating YouTube content, bypassing delivery charges, and playing matchmaker, with gaming because the only major goal in the mind.
8 Shape Shifting
While every episode of Uncle From Another World has fans in stitches, Ojisan’s most memorable moment needs to be in episode 3 as he decides that Takafumi’s home requires a more feminine touch. The unpredictable Uncle all of a sudden becomes the spitting picture of Elf (now donning a big hoodie and very little else) in order to bond with Fujimiya while trying to play match-matcher along the way.
Strangely enough, this type of magic looks like it’s forbidden in Granbahamal, and that’s why Yosuke did not update his orc-ant appearance to avert being constantly attacked. Also, he cannot keep up with the transformation for too lengthy, otherwise, Takafumi could be permanently tied to an attractive aunt-Elf by having an altered personality rather (not too his YouTube fans would mind!)
7 Raunchy Restraints
These robust magical chains come quite in handy, specially when Ojisan all of a sudden finds the necessity to secure among the fair maidens that insist upon following him around. They can be expected, things frequently get extremely beyond control once the Orc Face does not understand the idea of limitations and private space and winds up acting just like a complete pervert, but, in Ojisan’s defense, he technically will get triggered first.
Because of his lack of ability to see the area (or understand his role within the narrative), Ojisan rejects Mabel’s prized Divine Frost Blade in episode 5, which in turn causes the princess to lash in frustration, and that he needs to subdue her without causing harm. The hoodie-stealing Elf can also be exposed for this type of punishment when Ojisan conjures these chains again in episode 7, with equally side-tickling provocative results.
6 Forcefield Creation
Although Ojisan appears to stand out at offensive magic, his defensive skills aren’t missing as a result, as his nifty shields and barriers have discovered an inviting home in the arsenal. The ill-fated Uncle uses these esoteric barricades for self-upkeep throughout his travels as well as protects the whole Town of Luvaldrum from Cyclopses, a Titan, a Cloud Dragon, contributing to a hundred additional Monsters (whose rage-caused rampages are Ojisan’s doing, incidentally!)
Like the remainder of Ojisan’s magic, the origin of his power really hails from the Spirits, who need to be nicely requested if they’re prepared to help, with a few usually demanding something in return for their efforts. Small tasks require little compensation, however, the higher the request, the greater Ojisan needs to repay. The Spirits of Formation are predominantly accountable for this defensive magic, however, it’s the Spirits of Repair who save your day in the Sealed City Luvaldrum (by fixing what curiosity broke).
5 Memory Manipulation
The overpowered Ojisan has lots of methods to fiddle with someone’s memory banks (including their own) and the Isekai facet of Uncle From Another World may likely are unsuccessful without his Iculus Ellan technique. This specific spell enables Yosuke to duplicate the target’s memory onto a holographic screen of sorts, giving viewers a “first-hands” experience with their past adventures, and all sorts of flashbacks from Granbahamal are achieved in this way.
In comparison, Iculus Cuora concentrates on eliminating an unhealthy memory in the Hippocampus, negating trauma in the drop of the hat. Regrettably, certain triggers could bring everything hurrying back (plus a nosebleed in theSpirit of Memory)and could need repeated applications if needed. Alternatively, Iculus Sladrac is much more just like a spiritually-fueled search bar that enables Ojisan to scan the recollections of others to obtain the needed information.
4 Optic Camouflage
Although Ojisan does not showcase this unique ability much, Takafumi takes full benefit of it as he inherits his Uncle’s forces to have an hour in episode 7 and turns themself and Fujimiya completely invisible. Then he cleverly combines this method with some Illusion Projections to to take their place, departing any unsuspecting bystander (ie: Ojisan and Chiaki) to think they’d never left.
An easy Optic Camouflage spell might have become Ojisan from many unfortunate predicaments in Granbahamal, however, maybe he wasn’t always conscious of his forces of invisibility. Besides, he first needed the Spirit of sunshine on his side, which only happened once Yosuke was driven delusional after being abandoned inside a prison cell for any week (a celebration anybody might have erased using their memory banks).
3 Frequent Flier
While Ojisan is generally seen travelling Granbahamal (or fleeing the scene inside a panic), he’s really a competent aviator who seems to possess about just as much speed like a Super Saiyan hurtling with the air. Unlike a lot of his other spells, Ojisan is not needed to recite an incantation to activate his flying abilities (which will come as a significant shock as he all of a sudden hurls themself from the balcony).
After coming back towards the real life, Yosuke apparently sees no use within flying, until he finds out the less-than-lucrative trap of shipping costs that sneak their distance to sale. To negate these back breaking charges, the ingenuitive Uncle simply flies around the region collecting products as an over-experienced pack-mule, while making certain to snag best wishes deals and greatest savings. Ojisan may also activate Instant Teleport, however, because of technical reasons, he makes use of this ability less often.
2 Phoenix Fire Annihilation
Ojisan’s most visually stimulating ability is perhaps his pyromancy skills, whereby he summons a flame-feathered Phoenix from nothing, which in turn proceeds to lose whatever he wants to a crisp. Yosuke uses the entire pressure of his Phoenix as he comes in person with a disappointing form of Sonic the Hedgehog in episode 7, who eats people, not for that flavor, but merely to have within their bloodstream-curdling screams.
It is not easy to disregard how precise Ojisan’s flame-fueled attack is, because it leaves a wonderfully segmented portion of land charred, as the rest remains untouched (somethingDaenerys and Drogon could never achieve.) Ojisan simply must mutter the incantation “Baraibhut Folg Bastohl” to attract upon these almighty forces (while performing the best ‘Unflinching Walk’ along the way).
1 Wild Talker
Isekai heroes aren’t usually just dumped into another world with no assistance, because they are generally gifted some type of supernatural ability to assist them to on the way. As ill-fortuned as Ojisan is, a minimum of he still received his Isekai Bonus, eloquently dubbed nature Talker. In a moment as he is feeling particularly misinterpreted, Yosuke anxiously pleads for that communication barrier to melt off, and all of a sudden finds themself in a position to converse in Granbahamal’s foreign tongue.
Ojisan finds out he may also speak straight to the Spirits (which subsequently grants him the rest of the epic forces) and talk to creatures too, although, only within the right conditions. After much evaluation, Takafumi and the Uncle conclude that Wild Talker are only able to be activated if there’s “direct communication while under immense pressure,” that is nearly as good a period just like any!
Uncle From Another World is a result of continue his adventures from episode 8 onwards on 24 November 2022 (in Japan).
